Who doesn’t love a holiday! Life is so busy these days, thats why it is so important for self care, relaxing and taking that holiday every now and again!

I am a strong lover of a warm destination! when it comes to holidays I just always love warmer temperatures, being surrounded by beaches & good vibes! Here are my top 10 tips for staying healthy while travelling!

Healthy eating tips for over seas travel 

  1. Stock up on healthy snacks before you leave for your flights – good snack ideas may include pre packaged bliss balls, roasted chickpeas or beans, paleo bars, trail mix, dried fruits or grab a fruit salad or a natural or greek yoghurt at the airport. BUT Don’t forget , if your craving that indulgence, don’t deprive yourself! all foods are apart of a healthy diet!  

  2. Make sure you take a large water bottle on the plane and get air hostess to refill for you as you dehydrate 3 x faster in the air, will help with constipation/jet lag 

  3. When eating out, opt for meals that are vegetable dense or add a size of steamed vegetables or a side salad 

  4. f you have fish, opt for grilled over battered or fried 

  5. Keep exercise as part of a healthy holiday – however be kind to yourself! 

  6. Drink bottled water, depending on which country you are in. 

  7. Once you get to your destination, scout around for your nearest local markets or fruit and vegetable shop to stock up on nutritious foods. 

  8. If you have the ability, book a room that has a built in kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. 

  9. Breakfast being the most important meal of the day, ensure you are having a serve of protein to sustain you throughout the day. Protein is our building blocks for our enzymes, neurotransmitters, structural components of the body, transport molecules etc etc! 

  10. Take probiotics with you in your travel bag
