The gut lining is the foundation of many pillars of our health. Our immune system begins in our gut, our microbiota adheres to the gut lining to keep our immune system active. When the gut lining is compromised and inflammation is present, that gives opportunity to pathogenic bacteria and particles (proteins) to pass through to our blood stream and cause systemic inflammation, immune over reactivity and food sensitivities, among other things!
